Dr. Singer , your work on animal rights and morality and so much more has been a true and lasting inspiration.

I think it would be wise to separate yourself from the ‘effective altruism’ movement. This notion of using ‘effective’ charities based on your principle is really just moral-washing of the entire movement.

The EA movement is really much more focused on the fringe and crackpot notion of protection of innumerable ‘future humans’ from invented malevolent AI. It seems EA truly serves as a philosophical means and justification to pursue profit in computer science fields for adherents, particularly in the AI space. Particularly towards an unsettling and mostly incomprehensible and fantastical vision of near infinite humans plugged into a blissful singularity. I can only imagine adherents should have spent more time outdoors rather than rewatching The Matrix and other sci fi.

Hopefully you can be both, as I identify with both labels. An excellent read, thank you.
