I’m on TIME’s 2025 Philanthropy List!
This week, TIME released its inaugural TIME100 Philanthropy list, a selection of individuals recognised for shaping the future of giving, and I’m pleased to be on it.
The list brings together people who have contributed to philanthropy in varying ways, from funding ambitious global health projects to challenging how we think about wealth, giving, and impact. It’s good to see that the significance of ideas like effective altruism is being recognized.
For more than five decades, I’ve encouraged people in affluent countries to think about what it means to live an ethical life in a world in which millions of children die before their fifth birthday from preventable, poverty-related causes. Whether through charitable donations, career choices, or how we consume, we can do more good than we might think – especially if we choose the most effective charities, like those recommended by The Life You Can Save or Animal Charity Evaluators.
It’s gratifying to see these ideas gaining traction, and I hope this recognition helps amplify the message that how we give, and to whom, matters.

Congratulations and thank you for living your life the way you do.
Good on ya!
