Incremental change is important, but I fear that it makes companies and people complacent that they have done something and don’t need to change further. We see this effect in fighting global warming where people make an incremental change and beam that they are fighting climate change, when what we need is monumental change. With animal cruelty, although the issues aren’t as pressing in terms of existential threat as climate change, the longer we tolerate incremental change the more animals are mistreated.

How can we insure incremental change doesn’t stand in the way of more substantive changes? Or are committed to waiting another 30+ years for the next change?
